Get to know me:

My name is Ambria Wood and I was born and raised in beautiful Northern Utah. Growing up you could almost always find my family in the mountains, at the lake or in our backyard playing sports. I spent most summers in the mountains camping or at our cabin in the "Caribbean of the Rockies"; Bear Lake, UT.

I was lucky enough to have parents who took me hunting and taught me how to hunt at a young age. Some of my favorite memories with my family is while we were deer hunting. I have always loved hunting and as I have gotten older, that passion has only grown. Another hobby of mine is riding horses. I have been riding and working with horses for 17 years now and boy do I love being in the saddle.

About 3.5 years ago I met a super cute country boy (Now my husband) and if we're not at work, we are in the outdoors. Some of our favorite things to do are hunt, go on trail rides, bow fishing, camping, boating, etc. Pretty much anything and everything to do with the outdoors.

My inspiration.

I have been on lots of successful hunts, but I have been on far more unsuccessful hunts. And to me, a hunt can be successful without harvesting an animal. I have been on several hunts where we get elk walking right in on us, or we see a massive trophy buck, or simply you see a beautiful mountain scene. And that makes it all worth it. Being close to a bugling elk is something that I wish everyone could experience. It is incredible. Hunting is not just about the kill, it's about the people you're with, being surrounded by wildlife, nature and unplugging from the world. Don't get me wrong, hunting has brought PLENTY of tears, frustration and anger but man is it worth it. Nothing beats the feeling of getting back to the side by side after packing out an animal that you hunted hard for. I love when hunting season, we are gone every weekend with family and great friends, making memories and learning lessons that will last a lifetime. I love capturing photos of not only the beauty of hunting, but the hard work, grit and passion it takes to be an outdoorsman.
